Hiring Coup Results in U.S. President’s Resignation

SEATTLE – Cascadia Law Group of Seattle and Olympia eclipsed the unending news cycle of Donald Trump’s campaign for the presidency today by capturing the attention of one of our nation’s most venerable newspapers with what is possibly the scoop of the year. As first reported by The Onion, Cascadia Law Group scooped the Washington, DC and Chicago law firms by hiring First Lady Michelle Obama. Founding partner Rod Brown said, “We are thrilled that Michelle has chosen Cascadia and Seattle for her next challenge. We could probably find room for the President to join us as well if he decides not to run for Mayor of Tacoma.”

Barack Obama asked to make the job change announcement first, given the turmoil this hire has set in motion with his resignation as President of the United States of America, effective immediately. As he commented to The Onion’s lead political reporter, “For years, Michelle has placed her ambitions and aspirations on the back burner so I could pursue my own, and now it’s my turn to put her first.”

“It’s hard for us to put in words our excitement and gratitude that Michelle Obama is willing to uproot her family and the nation to work for us,” said Cascadia Law Group partner Jay Manning. “We are confident that she will find our work on environment and natural resource issues to be an effortless extension of her amazing work as First Lady. We expect she will continue her work addressing childhood health issues in America. We just hope she doesn’t remove our Skittles from the office lunchroom on Day One.”

Cascadia Law Group was ranked the top tier environmental law firm in Seattle by U.S. News & World Report in 2016. With the new announcement, the sky is the limit for this ambitious, expanding firm. Rumors are flying that Cascadia and Pope Francis are in “serious discussions” about yet another eyebrow-raising lateral hire.
